There are several factors to consider when selecting an exhaust system for your vehicle, including noise level, finish, price, style, and installation difficulty. As you move through the versions here, you’ll notice that the more complete the system, the more expensive it becomes. In exchange, you'll get more performance and sound benefit out of the system. To sweeten the pot, our exhausts come with significant savings once you start bundling multiple pieces together.

Rattling or knocking noises from your vehicle are the most common signs that you need a new exhaust. Any rust on the exhaust can also be a sign that an upgrade is due. When you bid we pre-authorize your credit card for the service fee (this helps prevent fraud). If you win the auction, your card will be charged for the service fee and you pay the seller directly for the vehicle. If you don't win, your existing pre-authorization will be released.

Our exhaust system uses larger piping compared to the factory exhaust system, yet weights 5 lbs. The factory system uses 2.56" piping, which reduces to 2.36" before splitting, greatly diminishing the overall diameter of the system. Finally, our system’s 4" exhaust tips dwarf the factory 3.15" tips, giving the rear of the vehicle a sportier look. Beautifully hand-crafted T304-stainless-steel components adorn the system with stunning TIG-welding throughout.

A stock system is designed to reduce and if possible eliminate all the noise produced by your vehicle. Because of this, the axle-back exhaust system does not impact the flow or pressure of the exhaust gases in any way. The axle-back exhaust system uses the factory exhaust pipe which does not have a large diameter. This offers even more breathing space for the engine thus better performance. Most cat-back exhaust systems are customized and not universal. One is to replace specific parts like with cat-back exhaust systems.

Each cat-back exhaust system is made from high quality components and assembly so you can get the performance you want at a price you can afford with the assurance you need. It typically includes a rear pipe, resonator, and muffler that all attach after the last catalytic converter. The turbo-back system is the most complete system you can buy. It replaces all of the components that the previous two systems that we’ve talked about and also upgrades the downpipe. The downpipe is the first piece of exhaust piping that comes after the turbocharger and it also houses the catalytic converters on all L15 powered 1.5T Civics and Integras. From a sound and performance perspective, you’re going to get the most of both compared to the other two versions mentioned before.

In layman’s terms, a catback exhaust system provides a smoother, more streamlined path for exhaust gases to exit your car, allowing your engine to work more efficiently. When catalytic converters were first introduced, most vehicles used carburetors that provided a relatively rich air-fuel ratio. Oxygen (O2) levels in the exhaust stream were therefore generally insufficient for the catalytic reaction to occur efficiently.

This qualifies as one of the STRANGEST stock exhaust parts I have seen. For some reason Toyota/Lexus decided to weld a straight section of 60mm pipe to the cat outlet flange, angle cut it, weld a 50mm pipe pipe that has its last couple of inches expanded to 60mm and match angle cut. Also note the O2 placement is in the 50mm sections of the Y pipe where the sensor tip takes up a good portion of the available flow area.

One issue is that the system can become clogged with dust and debris over time, causing reduced performance. This can be remedied by regularly cleaning the system with compressed air or a soft brush. Finally, it's always a good idea to check for leaks after installation.

As a family owned and run company, who are local residents themselves, we have gotten to know their loyal clientele and love helping them with the repairs and modifications. Each "receiving" 50mm pipe is crushed in half, squeezed next to the other and welded to the 60mm "feed" pipe. We hope you enjoyed this lighter take from 27WON and find the information helpful the next time you shop for an exhaust system.

By running pipes from the catalytic converter to the muffler and from the muffler to the exhaust tip, cat back exhaust systems improve exhaust gas flow, providing small performance boosts. However, your performance gains may be limited if your catalytic converter restricts gas flow, as a catback exhaust system is installed ‘downstream’ of the converter. Header-back systems are increasingly rare, namely because of modern emissions systems. Since removing your vehicle’s factory emissions components is highly illegal, the previous two options are more common. However, header-back systems are still available for some older, pre-emissions applications. In these cases, header-back systems offer more performance and volume than cat-back or axle-back systems
